Microsoft Job Posting Hints at Xbox 360 Successor



Is Microsoft laying the groundwork for its next Xbox?
The software giant placed a job notice on its Web site yesterday, seeking a hardware engineer in its Interactive Entertainment Business division. The posting indicates that Microsoft wants to hire "a graphics hardware architect" for the company's Xbox Console Architecture group, which its posting claims is "responsible for defining and delivering next-generation console architectures from conception through implementation."

Mac's Don't Have Viruses... Are you Sure?


Security firm Sophos has discovered a modified variant of the well known darkComet Remote Access Trojan (RAT) that not only affects Windows PCs, but the Mac OS X platform too. Interestingly enough, the nefarious Trojan readily admits it's not yet finished, which could be indicative of more underground programmers finally taking notice of Mac's increased market share. In its current form, Sophos senior security adviser, Chester Wisniewski, describes the Trojan as "very basic" in nature with a mix of English and German in the UI.

Samsung Galaxy S2: Dual-Core, 1GB RAM, 8MP Camera


I've been waiting on this phone ever since rumors about it started flying all over the net. I'm very pick when it comes to dropping some serious cash on anything so I research the crap out of it. The Pros, the cons, and what I think the phone needed. Two cons for far: STILL no LED indicator and still no dedicated camera button (I can live without dedicated button). So far it's been said to only work on AT&T which sucks because I'm pretty sure the Vibrant did a lot better in terms of sales and sevice on T-Mobile's network. I just hope they release different flavors for the big 4.

Intel's Valentine's Day Gift: Non-Defective 6-Series Chipset


News and rumor site Fudzilla is reporting that Intel will begin shipping the B3 stepping for its 6-series chipset part by Monday, February 14th. For those of you who live in a cave under a rock on another planet, the original 6-series chipset contained a "design flaw" that affected several SATA ports. Only SATA ports 0/1 were unaffected, as well as those that might have been provided by a third-party (like Marvell, for instance). The B3 stepping is supposed to address this.
